About

Our Mission and Collective Action

We are a unified collective of associations and organizations dedicated to protecting our natural coastal environments from the rapid spread of invasive species. Originally formed as an offshoot of coastal protection groups and traditional salt-working communities, we have come together to address a critical ecological threat: the unchecked development of Baccharis halimifolia.

While many invasive plants affect our shores, the unique characteristics of this particular species present an exceptionally acute problem for our local ecosystems.

What We Do

Our members are committed to a two-tier approach to environmental preservation:

  • Local Action & Eradication: We work directly within our communities to raise awareness among residents and organize hands-on eradication sites to clear affected areas and restore natural balance.
  • National Advocacy: By pooling our efforts and resources, we act as a powerful collective voice. Our goal is to influence national policy and modernize regulations to more effectively manage and control this invasive threat.

Our Purpose

We serve as a central hub for all stakeholders concerned with this ecological challenge. Our objective is to mobilize diverse actors—from grassroots volunteers to local authorities and environmental organizations—to create a synchronized response.

We are not just another association; we are a strategic alliance of people and organizations willing to act collectively. By combining our expertise and local presence, we ensure that the protection of our coasts remains a priority for generations to come.
